Manufacturer In-Sync Our Part # ISY200 Manufacturer Part # BLADE000F200G
Overview Building on the success of Blade 1, Blade 2 adds a number of new features to enhance your editing experience as well as supporting the latest in DV production technology.
• Scrub, Trim, Play DV video material on the timeline and view your DV material on your DV camcorder or deck
• Supports the new Panasonic AG-DVX100 camcorder allowing you to acquire, edit and output your projects in NTSC or 24p !
Blade is a software-realtime editor and compositor that incorporates a new technology developed by in-sync.
Blade is optimized for capturing, editing and outputting DV, but can also import and edit dozens of file types in realtime, including film 2K, animation sequences, and HD. Unlike other software editors, Blade does not force media to one quarter resolution or down-convert it to DV in ORDER to perform. Projects can also be started in a variety of frame-rates, including 24p. This has great significance not only to the video editor, but to the animator and feature film creator as well. When your project is done, Blade prints to DV or exports to dozens of file formats, including uncompressed MPEG 1 and 2 for DVD.
Requirements Single processor machine: Intel Pentium IV 1.8 GHz or higher Dual processor machine: Each processor should be Intel Pentium 933 MHz or higher 512 MB RAM or higher
Blade requires Windows 2000 with service pack 2 or 3, and Windows XP service pack 1 only.
Blade requires DirectX 8.1 or higher. We have tested and certified DirectX 8.1 and 9.0.
Blade works with OHCI 1394 compatible Firewire ports.
Your system's hard drives need to be able to run at 15 Mb/sec data transfer rate or higher. Most modern drives are capable of this. There are significant performance differences between drives and you need to ensure correct configuration of the drives. For details contact your system integrator / reseller.
Your system will need a sound card / audio inputs / outputs and it will need to fully support Windows plug and play. We have tested and certified Blade to work with Mackie Soundscape audio card (several types of breakout box available), Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live!, AC97 onboard sound chip.
Your system will need a good VGA card. We are constantly testing series of VGA cards that support DirectX 8.1 and higher. We have tested and certified NVidia GeForce2, GeForce3, GeForce4 and ATI Radeon 7500, 8500, 9000 and 9700 VGA cards.
You may want to install a DVD recorder in your system. We have tested and certified Pioneer's DVR-A04, DVR-A05. There are a variety of software applications that work with these devices but we haven't certified any of these.
You can get in-sync Blade with a VGA card and an OHCI 1394 card by purchasing the Blade pack
Blade is compatible with Panasonic's AG-DVX100 camcorder
in-sync can provide integrated Blade systems. You can find more details about these here.
The following are not recommended in a Blade system: VGA cards that were developed before the advent of DirectX 8.1 ie Matrox G400, G450 (these VGA cards are extremely slow), Audio cards that don't have Windows certified WDM drivers, eg SoundBlaster 128 and lastly PCI / ISA based internal modems. We do not recommend using the audio I/O on a DigiSuite with Blade, if you want to run Blade on a DigiSuite system then you need to install a separate sound card for use with Blade. If you want to have your system run at peak speeds then we recommend that you avoid using USB devices if at all possible (and in addition disable your USB ports). USB ports cause significant system slowdown. You may want to test your computer to find out if this USB issue is relevant to your system.
