During the course of this workshop you will learn intermediate techniques while constructing a full site entirely in Flash. Learn techniques like loading text in from an external text file, making text scrollable, loading external bitmap graphics, dragging objects, importing video into Flash, animated popup menus, changing the volume of music dynamically with ActionScripting, and more. This workshop is right for you if you know Flash, but feel uncertain about the strategies and workflow related to making finished sites and presentations. Once you learn Flash as a tool, the next step to mastery is strategy. This workshop was developed to help you learn to pick the best strategies for the different challenges you'll face as Flash developers.
Shane Rebenschied is a freelance illustrator and Flash consultant/designer living in Clarkdale, Arizona. A graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, he is also the creator of other lynda.com CD-ROM titles including Optimizing Flash 5 Content, Intermediate Flash 5, Learning Flash MX, and Learning GoLive 6. When he isn't developing CD-ROM content for lynda.com, inc., he's usually working on a freelance illustration or Flash project (blot.com) or wrestling tarantula's out in the Arizona desert. Shane was a featured speaker at Flashforward2001 San Francisco and New York.
