*Compatible with Quark Xpress 5 Only*
Avenue.quark™ lets you extract content from QuarkXPress™ documents and store that content as XML, so you can publish all or parts of your library of existing QuarkXPress documents on the Internet or in other formats. Avenue.quark extracts content based on the formatting styles used in the existing documents, converting each content element tagged with a specific style in QuarkXPress to a corresponding XML element type. And avenue.quark is a two-way street; it lets you import existing XML content directly into formatted QuarkXPress documents using the XML Import XTensions.
XML Import
What do you do with XML content once you’ve extracted it? Using Web server products like Vignette E-Business Application Platform, you can automatically translate it, with HTML templates, into live Web pages. If the content is syndicated, you might even use different HTML templates to make it look different on different Web sites. But you can use XML for other things, too. For example, you might want to reprint content from one periodical in another. Or you might want to put XML content generated by another application into a QuarkXPress document.
The XML Import feature of avenue.quark lets you create “placeholders” based on element types in an XML DTD.
